Our team of general dentists creates exceptional crowns for our patients. Drs. Herzog, Pyser, Chouraqui, and Betancur make both crown comfort and aesthetics a priority in our Florida dental offices.
When we approach dentistry, we keep all of your options mind and help you to make a decision that will support your health and lifestyle. We do not offer one-size-fits-all dentistry and our dental crowns are no exception.
A crown that fits well and looks great can protect your tooth for many years to come. In both our Ft. Lauderdale and Boca Raton dental office locations, we recommend crowns for your teeth that may be compromised or at risk for breaking, splitting, or cracking.
The exceptional teams at both our Ft. Lauderdale and Boca Raton locations have a preventative attitude when it comes to your teeth. We do what we can to save and protect your natural teeth because it is the best way to promote good health and wellness.
Custom Restorative Dental Crowns
A crown is a protective cover, like a helmet, that covers your entire tooth. We recommend dental crowns when we suspect your tooth may not hold up under the pressure of chewing, talking, or other normal wear and tear. Cracks occur in teeth for numerous reasons. Sometimes the reason is because you grind your teeth, sometimes it's because of an accident, or sometimes because you bit into something hard unexpectedly.
A dental crown not only holds your tooth together, but also protects it from decay and bacteria. Because it covers the entire tooth, it absorbs some of the pressure from chewing, distributes the force, and protects your natural tooth underneath.
Dental Crown Procedures
Dental crowns are one of the most common restorative procedures performed by Tatiana Herzog DDS and the rest of our highly skilled dentists. We successfully place thousands of crowns each year for patients just like you. Our experience and expertise will make your procedure go smoothly, comfortably, and successfully.
Once we make sure you are completely relaxed and numb, we will prep your natural tooth for your new custom crown. That means we will remove any decay and reshape the tooth so that we create enough room for your restoration.
Typically, we need to create a temporary crown while our dental lab makes your custom porcelain crown. Our temporaries will protect your tooth until your custom crown comes back from the lab. Once it does, we will permanently attach your custom dental crown to your tooth and make any final adjustments necessary to ensure a proper fit and function.
Your new crown is strong and if you take care of it, use common sense and caution, and maintain your regular exams and dental cleaning appointments, it should last you for many years, providing you with both strength and beauty.
